08:30 Am: Our guide and driver pick you up at the hotel lobby for a full day exploring Hanoi. The first destination is the most highlights of Hanoi, which is Ho Chi Minh Complex including Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum, the Presidential Palace, His House-on-Stilts, One Pillar pagoda…

Then enjoy an hour Cyclo trip around Hoan Kiem lake and the Old Quarter which is known as the 36 streets and guilds with ancient buildings and narrow streets. From these streets, thousands of traditional things have been sold for hundreds years. Every street was named according to the specific thing the businesses living there sell, for example Silver Street, Rice Street, Shoes street, etc.

We continue our tour by visiting the Temple of Literature – a temple to Confucius, this is well-known as Vietnam’s first University built in the tenth century.

Day 3: Sapa arrival – Excursion to Hill tribe market (B/L/-)
This day, Best Vietnam Tour brings you to attractive lifestyle of minority people in Vietnam.

Morning arrival in Lao Cai station you will be met up by your private local guide and driver. They will bring you to a hotel nearby where you can freshen up in a day-use room and enjoy breakfast, before traveling to one of the most colorful markets of the region. After the market tour and lunch at a local restaurant you will continue to travel by road Sapa and check into our hotel.

Option 1: Cao Son – Wednesday Market.
Enjoy a beautiful scenic 2 hour drive to visit the Cao Son market. We take a dirt road which leads up into the mountains through the pine tree forests and villages that surround tiny markets. Flower H’mong, Tu Di, Tay and Giay are ethnic minorities who come to trade local products such as food, agricultural supplies and fabric here. After exploring these markets our car will take us back to Muong Khuong for lunch. After lunch in a local restaurant we will visit the most secluded peaceful villages, and have the opportunity to observe traditional practices such as distilling wine from corn and making bacon! We will be offered a special corn cake when you stop by a local house.

Option 2: Bac Ha – Sunday Market.
Leaving Lao Cao we drive to Bac Ha market (approximately 2 hours). Arriving at Bac Ha, we visit the big market and the colorful ethnic people of the Flower H’mong, Phu La and Dao Tuyen minorities, who gather here to buy and sell their handicraft products. After spending the morning exploring the market our lunch will be served at a local restaurant. After lunch we drive downhill and begin a short walk to Trung Do Village which is home to the Tay minority. Here we will visit a traditional Tay house. We then travel by boat through this amazing countryside to Bao Nhai Village.

Option 3: Can Cau Market – Saturday market.
After breakfast we will take a 2 hour drive to Can Cau market. Our journey will take us through the mountainous border area between Vietnam and China. Situated 20 kilometers from Bac Ha, Can Cau is a small but very colorful market. Opening only on Saturdays, it always delivers a very photogenic display of Flower Hmong, Nung and Phu La ethnic costumes. After spending the morning exploring the market, we will leave for Bac Ha town where we will have lunch. From Bac Ha we drive downhill (1/2 hour) to start a short walk to Trung Do Village which belongs to the Tay minority. We will have the opportunity to visit a traditional Tay house. We then travel by boat through this amazing countryside to Bao Nhai Village.

Option 4: Coc Ly Market – Tuesday market.
Drive from Lao Cao (2hrs) to Coc Ly market situated between the stunning mountains by the Chay River. Every Tuesday morning, the people from the surrounding ethnic villages such as Flower H’mong, Phu La and Dao Tuyen gather to buy and sell products. Having explored the market, we will then take a boat trip to Flower H’mong village of Na Nen and trek to Trung Do, the village of the Tay minority people. Here we will enjoy a picnic lunch in a local house with the Tay people. From there we will travel by boat down the river, and experience the magnificent sights surrounding the river banks.

Day 4: Sapa – Trek to Hill Tribe villages – Option, staying at a local home stay (B/L/D)
After breakfast you will be collected by your private guide again. Starting from Sapa, you will trek via Y Linh Ho through beautiful scenery to the Black H’mong Village of Lao Chai, located at the bottom of the valley, a few hundred meters lower than Sapa in terms of altitude.

Along the way you will have plenty of opportunities to take photos of this breathtaking scenery and chat with the locals. After a few hours trekking we reach the bottom of the valley, where some stalls are available that serve tea and fruit; this is a perfect spot to rest and enjoy picnic lunch.

In the afternoon, continue your trek for 1 ½ hours, through local villages, and arrive at the charming village of Ta Van, located in the valley of Muong Hoa. Here you will be greeted by the host family.

This evening you have dinner with the host family, enjoy talking with them, and spend the night in their home.

* Trekking distance is 12km/5 hours and the grade is easy to moderate. This trek is adjustable, and can be shortened or lengthened, to your liking.
* For those who do not wish to experience a “home stay” we can go back to town and stay in a hotel with additional charge.

Day 5: Sapa for further discovery – Overnight by train to Hanoi (B/L/-)
For those who choose to stay at the local home:

Rising to the sounds of the Ta Van Village, enjoy breakfast which is prepared by the host family, after which you will bid a farewell. From Ta Van we trek along the edge of paddy fields, passing a bamboo forest and the hill to the Red Dao tribe in Giang Ta Chai village. Make a quick stop by a waterfall where you can relax for a while. Continue your trek to the main road, here you are picked up by your private vehicle again and driven back to Sapa town.

For those who choose to stay in hotel in town:

After breakfast your private guide and driver will collect you at the hotel and take you (40 minute drive) to Tram Ton Pass, a height of 2047 meters above sea level, the highest pass in Vietnam.

Enjoy amazing views of the surrounding mountains and lush forests of the Hoang Lien National Park. From there you will trek 30 minutes through a tropical rain forest enjoying the wonderful flora and fauna. Continue to trek along a stream arriving at the Love Waterfall, a wonderful place to relax in Sapa. Returning to Tram Ton Pass and drive back to Sapa.

In the afternoon your guide will meet you again and commence a walking tour down to Cat Cat cultural village, just 3kms from Sapa (Sa Pa) town. A leisurely walk through the old village offers an overview of the traditional customs and practices of the ethnic Black H’mong minority. You will have the chance to visit a local home and see how they make their distinctive textiles and costumes.

Continue walking and stop by a stunning waterfall and the vestige of a hydro-electric power station, which was constructed by the French during the colonial era in Vietnam. Follow a dirt trail snaking through the mountain and enjoy the spectacular scenery while trekking along a narrow river bed until you reach the main road where your driver will be waiting to transport you back to Sapa.

The rest of your day is free until you are transferred by a private vehicle back to Lao Cai station to catch the overnight train back to Hanoi.

Day 6: Hanoi – Halong Bay – over night on cruise (B/L/D)
After breakfast, we start Best Vietnam Tour today by transfer to Halong Bay – designated by UNESCO as a World Heritage site since 1994. Traveling through the scenic fertile Red River Delta countryside, we get to Ha Long Bay by noon. The natural world heritage site Ha Long Bay is truly one of the most impressive scenery that should not be missed if someone ever comes to the north.

Upon arrival at Ha Long, we embark on cruise for an exploration of the legendary Ha Long Bay. This exciting hours cruise passing by the evocatively shaped islets will provide us a fantastic view of the picturesque scenery blending with the sky and some 3,000 limestone islands and islets rising amazingly from the clear and emerald water. Enjoy a Sea food lunch while you cruising through the bay.

Arrival in Van Gia floating fishing village, take rowing boat through the village or kayaking to visiting around the floating fishing village. Visiting Halong Pearl Farm Village, and Swimming in the bay.

Back the cruise and relax, free fresh fruits are served. You’ll join cooking class guided directly by Chef of the Cruise. You have chance to practice Vietnamese traditional dishes such as spring roll or famous cuisine of Vietnam.

Day 7: Halong Bay – Hanoi – fly to Danang (B/L/-)
Wake up in the morning to the calming sound of the waves crashing on the nearby islands, enjoy Tai Chi lesson on sundeck. Enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning and relax. Sitting on the upper deck, you can enjoy the breath – taking beauty of the rocky Islands rising from the crystal-clear waters of the Bay. The quiet is almost eerie; in summer you can hear birds singing, even that cicadas chirping ashore and the gentle lapping of the waves against our boat, the perfect soundtrack to accompany the fresh air and gentle breeze.

Arrive Sung Sot Cave (Amazing Cave) and joining with guide to visiting and explore the cave.

Our boat start cruising back and brunch buffet will be served on the way. Check out and arrive at the harbor by 11:30. You get back on our car and go back to Hanoi for a flight to Danang.

Upon arrival in Danang, we will be met by your private guide & driver and transferred by a private vehicle to the hotel in Hoi An to check in.

Day 8: Hoi An Discovery tour (B/L/-)
Today, Best Vietnam Tour offer you to discover Hoian ancient town – one of the world cultural heritage in Central Vietnam.

You are picked up at 4:45am and transferred to the docks to take a boat trip to Duy Hai Village. Here you can watch the fishermen bring in their catch from a night at sea on the river delta; where ocean and river meet. Witness how locals smoke and dry the fish. There are many photo opportunities here….. capture the morning light spilling across the water, get shots of light filtering through the fish smoking chambers, all with a background of countryside greenery!

Stop at the home of a local family for coffee and snacks, after which you will take a bicycle ride back to Hoian. On the way, you will have plenty of opportunities to meet the locals and take lots of photos. Return to Hoi An around 9:30am where you will be free until mid-afternoon.

Note: If you do not wish to make this early start, your tour will begin mid-afternoon with a visit to Hoi An Ancient town.
Mid-afternoon meet your private guide again and head to Hoian Ancient town for a two hour walking tour, visiting Hoian’s best attractions: Quan Cong temple, the Japanese Covered Bridge, the Old Merchant House, Fujian Assembly Halls and the local fish market.

The remainder of the day is free.

You can also take an opportunity to join a cooking class to learn about the arts of Vietnam culinary; visiting local market, choosing ingredients and preparing and cooking HoiAn special dishes. This is a great fun.

Day 10: Hoi An – Hue (B/L/-)
Today, Best Vietnam tour guide will show you the way to enjoy the beautiful road from Hoi An to Hue over Danang.

After breakfast you will be collected by your private guide and transferred in a private vehicle (approximately 4 hours) to Hue, via the scenic Hai Van Pass. En route you will stop to visit the Marble Mountain, My Khe Beach which was home to American GIs during the war, and Lang Co Beach and fishing village.

Arriving in Hue around mid-day and check into our hotel. You will then have time to buy your lunch and relax before your guide and driver pick you up in the late afternoon for our boat ride on the Perfume River. During the cruise, you will stop to visit the iconic Thien Mu Pagoda, a symbol of Hue. End your day at the Dong Ba City central Market.

Your day starts with a short visit to Thanh Toan Village where we can see the lively morning market. This is where the locals come to by their daily food. Nearby is the 300 year old Thanh Toan bridge and a Cultural Museum where you can visit and talk to the locals.

Continue on to the Forbidden Purple City, former home to the Nguyen Dynasty from 1802 – 1945. Then enjoy lunch at a local restaurant.

In the afternoon you will visit one of the Kings tombs (options: Tu Duc, Minh Mang or Khai Dinh), then head to Vong Canh Hill to watch the sunset over the Perfume River. On the way back to town you will visit a local workshop where you can see how incense sticks and traditional conical hats are made.

Day 12: Hue – Flight to Ho Chi Minh City – half day city tour (B/-/-)
Today, you leave Best Vietnam Tour in the central Vietnam to take flight to the south.

After breakfast, your private driver will you collect you and take you to airport for a short flight to Ho Chi Minh City, commonly known as Saigon. It is the largest city in Vietnam and is located near the Mekong Delta.

Upon arrival, we will be met by your private guide and driver and taken to the hotel for check in. Rooms are usually available after mid-day. Lunch is on your own.

In the afternoon you will be met again and embark upon an exploration of this Metropolitan City. You will visit the Notre Dame Cathedral, the Rex Hotel, City Hall, the Opera House, the colonial Post Office, renowned for its architecture, and the Ben Thanh Market. Later stop at the Reunification Palace and the moving War Remnants Museum to learn more of Vietnam’s turbulent past.

Day 13: Ho Chi Minh City – Cu Chi Tunnels and Cao Dai Temple (B/L/-)
Today, Best Vietnam Tour introduce 2 must-see sites in the south of Vietnam – Cu Chi tunnels and Cao Dai temple.

In the morning, you will be privately transferred by your guide and driver to northwest of Saigon to visit the Cu Chi tunnels. The tunnels were constructed during the “American war” and used by the Viet Cong. Today, some of the remaining tunnels have been opened to tourists, offering a unique insight into what underground life must have been like during the war.

Upon arrival at the historical site of Cu Chi you will watch a brief introductory documentary and then begin our sightseeing, walking on the dirt paths through the bush. You will also have the chance to crawl through some of the tunnels if you wish. After touring Cu Chi you are driven for approximately 1hr to Tay Ninh, to the Cao Dai Temple. Here you will watch part of a Cao Dai service, with an explanation of this very different religion.

Leaving the temple, you head to for a simple lunch in a local restaurant before driving back to town (Approx. 3 hrs.)

Today, Best Vietnam tour brings you to Mekong Delta – the must see area in the south. Your private guide and driver will take you out of Ho Chi Minh City in a private vehicle and onto some beautiful country roads to Ben Tre Town, the heart of the Mekong Delta, popularly known as the “rice bowl” of Vietnam, and is famous for its vast rice fields, numerous waterways and beautiful landscapes.

Arriving at Ben Tre town you will embark on a motorized boat trip around the scenic Bến Tre River, viewing various local industries along the way. During the boat ride you will stop to visit the local workshops to see how bricks & sleeping mats are made. You also take a motor cart (xe lôi) passing rice and vegetable fields.

Return to Ben Tre town for lunch, after which you will be driven two hours back to your hotel.
